» Chances in the Alpine Space
The transnational opportunities which public procurement markets provide are still insufficiently used by companies
in the individual EU countries. However, in particular the neighbouring Alpine markets offer very interesting
business chances. In fact 18% of all public contracts in Europe are awarded in the Alpine space and contracting
authorities spend more than 180 billion Euro in this region. This signifies an important contract source for
companies, especially for small- and medium-sized enterprises.

The ALPPS Project
In order to assist companies in the transnational search and bidding for public contracts, eight partners
from Germany, France, Italy, Austria and Switzerland have joined their efforts. Within the framework
of the ALPPS project, these partners have developed various measures to facilitate companies‘ access to
neighbouring markets.
